Bronwyn Scurlock

Senior Associate

Bronwyn Scurlock was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, a small town in Southern Ohio. In 1997, she attended the University of South Carolina, and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in 2000. In 2001, she attended the University of Toledo College of Law, and graduated Cum Laude with a J.D. in 2004.

Bronwyn is an experienced attorney who worked as a City Attorney in the public sector for 16 years before switching her career to family law. During those years, she primarily advised law enforcement, traffic and code enforcement officers, worked as a prosecutor, and handled marijuana and liquor licensing matters.  During her lengthy public service career, in both Denver and Fort Collins, she worked to develop and implement several specialty courts designed to find a more appropriate and suitable remedy aimed at rehabilitating defendants with lengthy criminal histories, rather than imposing jail and/or probation. Further, she drafted many of the City of Fort Collins’ criminal and civil laws, as well as the City’s marijuana business licensing structure.

Over the course of her career, Bronwyn has handled hundreds of criminal and civil court and jury trials. This skill set has translated seamlessly well into family law litigation. She has a true passion as an advocate for her clients, and understands the benefit of mediation and settlement when warranted, and will fight hard to do what is right for each of her clients.

Bronwyn’s family law career has been primarily focused on protecting childrens’ quality of life, and in doing so, she has been a strong advocate for fathers’ rights and fathers’ parenting time.  She is extremely personable and is ready to hear your story. She will help you feel more at ease by navigating the legal system for you, and ensuring the best available creative legal solution to your unique situation.

Bronwyn’s interests outside of the office include running, hiking, skiing, and enjoying all of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer with her three children.
