Joshua D. Ritter

Of Counsel

Joshua Ritter has lived in Colorado since the age of 4 and has always felt a deep gratitude to have been able to grow and live among the Rocky Mountains. From a young age, Joshua had a passion for the outdoors and spent many cherished days running, camping, hiking, and biking with friends, family, and all on his own throughout Colorado’s wilderness. From these experiences, Joshua has developed a grit and determination that he has brought with him to the practice of law.

Joshua earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Colorado – Boulder, graduating magna cum laude. He remained at CU to complete his Juris Doctorate degree. In law school, Joshua discovered a passion for the courtroom, throwing himself into trial advocacy courses, taking on his first trials as an intern with the Boulder District Attorney’s Office, and advocating for family law clients through the University of Colorado’s Civil Legal Aid Clinic.

Over the next 20 years, Joshua has practiced law throughout Northern Colorado. He began as a criminal prosecutor, trying every sort of case – from routine traffic offenses to first-degree murder. After experiencing his own divorce, Joshua’s focus shifted to family law. He brings the empathy gained from his own family experiences combined with the courtroom skills honed over the years to advocate for his clients as they begin their own new chapters in life.

Today, Joshua is dedicated to assisting clients navigate the intricate path through divorce with an approach that is both compassionate and thorough. When he is not practicing law, Joshua loves sharing the outdoors with his own kids and watching as their unique interests develop and grow.
